We recognize that your privacy is extremely important to you. And wholeheartedly protect the security and reliability of your personal information.

What information does Moodpress obtain and how is it used ?

Diary & Data stats

We does not provide an option to create an account, and therefore we do not store nor have access to your diaries and data. Your data are stored only locally on your device and all data stats are done on your device as well. You can optionally synchronize your data to Apple iCloud (iOS) or to Google Drive (Android). Your backups are stored in your private cloud space and we don’t have access to your backup files. Only you have access to and control them.

We obtain your email address when you request support via email. We only use your email to contact you with support, feedback or important information.

We recommend that our users backup their data regularly. Our users can manually export their backup file and store anywhere they want. They also can choose to make cloud backups that are kept in the user's private cloud space where we do not have access to.

Android Google Drive Backups

Android users can optionally backup their data through their private Google account. Therefore, their backups are stored in their Google Drive free space.

We safely connect our user's Google Account and data is stored where we or other apps have access with the permission. View Google Privacy Policy at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/

The Google email and user name are requested to recognize the user's account and backup their own data into their private Google Drive. The email address and name will not be collected with Analytics data.

iOS iCloud Backups

iOS users can optionally backup their data through Apple services. Their backups are securely stored in their own iCloud free space.

iCloud secures our user's information by encrypting it when it’s in transit, storing it in an encrypted format, and securing their encryption keys in Apple data centers. Apple uses end-to-end encryption for additional privacy and security. This means that only user can decrypt and access their own information, and only on their devices where already signed in with their Apple ID. Analytics

Our application may collect some anonymized usage data that are essential for us to deliver our services, to understand your needs, and to improve our services. Such as app launches, taps, clicks, in-app purchases, screen visits, or other information about how users interact with our app. These data are fully anonymized and aggregated and thus not linked to any particular user. To find bugs and maximize stability, we also collect crashes amd look at performance reports.

Photos

You can choose to attach a photo to your entry while editing. All the photos are stored locally in our app’s storage on your phone. If you make a backup through your private account, your photos will be stored in your Google Drive or iCloud free space. We have no access to your photos.

Android

The following third-party services for our Android app:

Google Analytics for Firebase (Google Inc.)
  • By collecting and analyzing usage data, Android application will be improved with the help of this service.
  • Anonymized data collected included: usage and device data such as cookies, unique device identifiers, usage data, anonymized IP addresses, device models, operating systems, geography, in-app purchases, first visits, app opens, app updates
  • Data retention: 2 months

    • Firebase Crashlytics (Google Inc.)
  • By identifying crashed and errors in our app, the reliability and stability of our Android app will be improved with the help of this service.
  • Anonymized data collected included: Crashlytics Installation UUIDs, crash traces, device models, geography, operating systems.
  • Data retention: 90 days.

    • Google API Services User Data Policy (Google Inc.)
  • Moodpress use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

    • Our use of your personal data
  • Your privacy is important to us and we will only process your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and relevant personal data regulation.
  • Moodpress may further disclose your personal data in order to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation, if we reasonably believe that this is required by law, regulation or other legislation, or in order to protect and defend Moodpress, subject always to relevant applicable personal data regulation.

    • Access, storage and erasure of personal data
  • Moodpress only reads your sleep and step data from your Health Connect with your permission. However, Moodpress does not have the right to store and delete your personal data. Therefore, only you can erase your personal data by deleting your application, or deleting the backuped data in your Google/Dropbox account.
  • Your data is only stored locally on your device, or in your Google/Dropbox account if you have a backup, as we do not have a registered service or user account.

    • Security of the personal data we process
  • The security and integrity of your personal data are important to us. Your backup file belongs only to yourself.
  • In addition to complying with applicable relevant personal data regulations, Moodpress App also uses recognized industry standards, technologies and procedures, such as firewalls, security software, etc., to protect the integrity of your personal data and prevent any unauthorized access. But there is no doubt that no system is 100% secure. And there is always a risk of unauthorized access to your personal data. Therefore, we also strongly recommend that you use and protect your unique Moodpress password on the Moodpress service, and log in to your personal Google/Dropbox account to back up your data in case you forget your password.

    • Transfer of data
  • Under no circumstances will Moodpress transfer personal data to any third party.

    • Children
  • Moodpress is committed to protecting the privacy of children. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") requires that we inform parents and legal guardians about how we collect, use and disclose personal information from children under the age of 13. Neither Moodpress nor any of its services or products are designed or intended to attract children under the age of 13. We do not collect personally identifiable information from any person we actually know is under the age of 13. We urge all parents or guardians to participate in their children's exploration of the Internet and to teach their children how to protect their personally identifiable information while online.

    • Note on Google Health Connect
  • The Moodpress Android app allows users to access the Health Connect service and read information owned by the user. The app requests the user's permission to read sleep and step counts from Health Connect, which data will then be displayed in the app's health statistics to help understand the user's health progress.
  • The app does not store user data in a local storage and back up user data on Moodpress servers. The use of information received from Health Connect will adhere to the Health Connect Permissions Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
  • The app does not share user data without explict permission from the user.
  • Health and Fitness App Information that we read from Health Connect (as described above) may qualify as “sensitive personal information.” We read and use sensitive personal information to: provide you with additional information that you can incorporate into your evaluation of your progress toward your wellness objectives. However, it should not be considered professional medical advice and should not be used for diagnostic purposes.

    • Your query or feedback

    Your entries and memories are truly private and fully under your control. We do NOT collect any information which identify or allows to identify You, unless You voluntarily provide Us with such data (in particular, when communicating with Our support team, leaving feedback re Your experience with the Apps). We will get your email address when you need support via email or customer support contact form. Through your email, we only provide support or important information to you without any other disturb.

    Gain permission

    We will ask for your separate permissions to have access to your photos, use your biometric password, as well as for sending push notifications to you. If you change your mind re permissions granted, you will be able to revoke them at any time afterwards by changing settings on your Device. However, please note that rejecting or switching off these permissions shall negatively affect the use of Apps.

    Privacy Policy change

    We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace this Policy at any time. Any changes we may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page. You should check this page from time to time and take note of any changes.

    You will be deemed to have accepted the updated Privacy Policy if you continue to use the Services after the new Privacy Policy taking effect.
